Resources for PSD mockups

While there’s no substitute for photos of the real thing, you can’t add photos to your portfolio until an idea is implemented after sign-off. Giving your designs some context will help your clients to appreciate the value of what you do, and here’s where to get some free and premium PSD mockup templates.

Get free & subscription-based PSD mockups

Envato Elements

Unlimited downloads, from $19 per month. A good deal from Envato Elements.

Livesurface Context

For the past few years I’ve used one or two mockups from LiveSurface Context in pretty much every design presentation I send. I gave it a feature a couple of years back when it launched. $9 per month for the Illustrator plugin. Worth it.

Graphic Burger

I’ve used a few from GraphicBurger. There are a lot more banner ads on the site these days. Watch out for the fake “download” button (ad) alongside the real one if you find a mockup you’re keen on.

Here’s a link to Pixeden’s free section. Some good ones on offer.

Premium Pixels

Premium Pixels is collection of free design resources created and curated by web designer Orman Clark.

GraphicRiver PSD mockups

GraphicRiver is part of the Envato family, so while there are decent mockups here, it’s probably better to download what you can with a month’s subscription to Envato Elements.

You’ll find more options by searching Behance for “mockup,” but it can take quite a lot of time.

Not every PSD is good, and some look a lot less realistic than others, but you’ll know which ones work best.

Some resources I’ve not used, but that might help.
